Pearl™ Fiber-Coupled Module Expanded to 100 W

January 15, 2008

7 A drives 100 W out of 400 and 600 µm fiber with >50% efficiency

Vancouver, WA USA  January 15, 2008 – nLIGHT Corporation today announced the newest addition to its Pearl™ Fiber-Coupled Module product family: 100 W with >50% electrical to optical efficiency. The Pearl™ product family is based on single emitter diodes rather than the 1 cm bar, which resets the industry reliability benchmark for high-power fiber-coupled diode lasers, operating CW or pulsed.

The new offering produces 100 W at selected wavelengths from 795 - 980 nm out of 400 µm or 600 µm fiber with 0.22 NA. “Utilizing nLIGHT’s proprietary nXLT™ single emitter diodes, greater than 50% wall plug efficiency is achieved,” commented Keith Kennedy, Pearl™ Product Line Manager. “High efficiency enables significant system cost-reductions for our customers through higher reliability diodes, the use of low current power supplies, and reduced system cooling requirements.” Pearl™ products exhibit a combination of high brightness and high power that are ideally suited for both pumping (DPSSL, Disk Lasers and Fiber Lasers) and direct diode applications such as plastic welding and direct marking.

nLIGHT will be showing this addition to the Pearl™ product family at the Photonics West Conference in San Jose January 22-24, 2008.
